Plasma Processing
Gas plasma processing as part of the manufacturing process has an important role in enhancing surface properties. The interaction between the device surface and its immediate environment (at the outer most nanometres) is critical. Cleanliness standards are becoming ever tighter and surface chemistry is becoming more important for wettability / adhesion, bonding of bio-molecules and films, hydrophobic properties, drug binding or release.

Changing the surface properties of polymers, metals, ceramics or composites – solids, woven textiles, fibres and complex geometries – can all be achieved by plasma processing using appropriate equipment design. Flat surfaces, bores and lumens are all treatable with the correct system configuration, gas distribution and energy source.
Here at Innovatek Medical, we have a range of plasma surface treatments to suit many applications. From etching and surface cleaning to polymerisation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic coatings or deposition of highly functionalised coatings for specific biomedical uses – Innovatek Medical has a solution.
